We had a surpise birthday party for my dad last weekend. It was his 71st birthday on the 22nd. I missed doing something big for his 70th due to the fact that he wasn't feeling great last year. The week before his birthday we got the bad news that his cancer has actually spread to his lungs...which is not curable, only treatable. I think we have all been in a daze trying to accept the news. I wanted to do something special for him so that he would know how special of a person he is to many people. I made him a memory book and had people write him a note or a letter and talk about memories that they had of him. It was so much fun to read what everyone remembered about dad. I think dad had a great time and enjoyed spending the day with good friends and family.
