*Remember to get gas in Snowville....its a LONG drive until the next gas station. We weren't sure we were going to make it to the next stop without running out of gas. I can't tell you how relieved we were to find the little ho-dump station in Montello----the pumps were so old fashioned! I wish I had a camera. And we paid 2x's more than we would have at home....but we didn't care!
*Pack a map! We always rely on Berta (that is our GPS system on our cell phones. We named her Berta on our honeymoon). Sometimes Berta doesn't get service! Haha.
*Take a tool box....and a flashlight.....just in case your headlight burns out in the middle of no where----Justin used an itty bitty free kit thing he got from Cabelas and the light from his cell phone to change the headlight. (You would have thought we would have learned our lesson when the same thing happened in California on our honeymoon)
*Check the weather before planning a trip! We had to go over Donnor's pass.....which was a JOKE! They had a chain restriction....which we didn't have chains. We made it through, but they wouldn't let us go back over without them. We just hung out a few minutes and they lifted it (Well, the guard guy let us through since we had 4-wheel drive and snow tires). The annoying this was.....CA drivers don't know how to drive in snow for one thing (little cars driving on the right side of the road Right in the MIDDLE of the slush...SMART)---but the most frustrating thing was there was hardly any snow on the roads! It was slush!!! (However, I have heard that the pass can get really hairy....but come on people!)
*You should always tip the Vallet boy. Haha....we didn't know until Justin was talking to him on our way to pick up our car! (we had to park in over-sized parking since we had a trailer)
*NEVER eat at McDonalds in downtown Reno.....YIKES! They even had a guard on duty---armed with pepper spray! LOL
*Don't forget your earplugs. We were rudely awoken by a drunk guy outside of our room who couldn't remember what room number he was supposed to be at. Him and the guard were hollering back and forth for about 30 minutes. I was NOT in the mood!
*Don't rely on ME to spot the deer through Park Valley at night! Justin would see them forever down the road and I wouldn't see them until we were passing them....haha. NICE!
Needless to say, we made it home in one piece with a sweet army green motorbike that doesn't run yet! Was it worth it honey?!?!!?

Sounds like you had fun. :) When we use to go to Sacramento every winter my dad use to be banned from saying the word adventure because things would happen to us. . .like locking the keys in the car at the Donner Pass visitor center! I am glad you got home safe! :D
